The Government is pushing for the finalisation of the Health Professionals Council Bill. Once it becomes law, the bill will empower the minister of health to allocate doctors, nurses and pharmacists to areas where there is need instead of them choosing their duty station. Vice President Nangolo Mbumba says this is to ensure that all state health facilities have sufficient staff complements despite their geographical locations.
