The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the fourth case of COVID-19 was recorded in Namibia. The 19-year-old Namibian male returned from the United Kingdom on 18 March and has been quarantined. The student is in isolation and in a stable condition. Health Ministry’s response team is following up with all those who may have come into contact with the patient. Additional measures to curb the spread of the virus will be announced following a meeting by the task force. The minister also announced that while the government has been providing for the group of Namibians who arrived in Namibia from high-risk European countries on Saturday, their families will from tomorrow onwards be expected to provide food and other necessities to the group. This is in line with international practices. None of those in quarantine are currently showing any symptoms and family members are not yet allowed to come into contact with the group. Another group of Namibians is expected to arrive on the 26th of March from the Netherlands.
