|Khomas Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua shared her sadness after hearing about the passing of Namibia’s Founding President, Dr. Sam Nujoma, on Saturday.

While finding it hard to accept his death, McLeod-Katjirua believes “time will heal her.”

She mentioned that his passing, just a year after Former President Dr. Hage Geingob’s death, has been devastating for the nation.

Governor McLeod-Katjirua recalled meeting Dr. Nujoma in 1975 in Lusaka, Zambia, and lauded his many achievements, saying they are too many to list.

She added that Namibians may not have fully understood his importance while he was alive, but his legacy will become clearer after his passing.

Governor McLeod-Katjirua also praised Dr. Nujoma for his strong and decisive leadership, saying that he was known for his ability to make decisions and stand by them, a quality many admired in him.
