An audit expert says institutionalised corruption is hurting the integrity of auditors and risk managers. Dirk Strydom, of the Institute of Internal Auditors in South Africa, wants auditors to ensure that the profession’s reputation is not tainted by corruption. Strydom in a presentation titled ‘Dancing with Wolves’ shed light on the challenges they as watchdogs face in rooting out financial risks within institutions, believed to be infested with corrupt leaders.
