Rössing Uranium Limited Chairperson, Johannes !Gawaxab, plans to resign from the company’s board. !Gawaxab also resigned last week from another prominent role, as Chairperson of the Board of the Social Security Commission. A media statement issued by Rössing spokesperson, Botha Ellis says !Gawaxab has informed board members that he intended to resign and focus on other business commitments. The statement said he would remain chairperson until a successor is appointed. !Gawaxab was quoted as having said it has been his privilege to chair Rössing over the past two years, and that he has worked with outstanding people at the company. He cited the expansion in activities of the private equity fund he co-founded, which makes it increasingly difficult for him to dedicate sufficient time and effort to performing other duties, including in his role as chairperson of the Rossing Board of Directors. !Gawaxab joined the Rössing Board in November 2015.
