The Office of the Judiciary has distanced itself from a decision taken by the Namibian Police (NAMPOL) to increase road traffic fines saying judicial work is confined to the courtroom. This follows a decision last week by the Inspector-General of NAMPOL, Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga, who issued a directive to double fines to road traffic offenders.
