The Landless People’s Movement (LPM) has withdrawn its Councillor and Mayor, Maree Smit from the Keetmanshoop Town Council. Prior to her withdrawal Smit was serving as Mayor of the southern town for a second consecutive term following the November 2020 Local Authority elections.
