Mafwe Chief Simasiku Mamili is happy with development projects in his area of jurisdiction. These include the construction of roads, supply of potable water, rural electrification and health services. In a speech read on his behalf, Mamili commended government plans to construct feeder roads into remote areas. He appealed to road users to obey traffic signs and rules to avoid the ever-increasing road accidents in Namibia. The Mafwe chief also cautioned road users not to drink and drive. He further called on residents of the region to ensure their livestock did not graze alongside the roads. The Chief urged livestock farmers to keep their animals in kraals at night and not to let them wonder around, which he said could lead to road accidents. Mamili praised the Zambezi Regional Office and that of the Governor for the manner in which drought relief food was being distributed. He urged residents to start preparing their crop fields as the rainy season is approaching.
