SWAPO lawmaker, Sacky Shanghala urged rank-and-file members to ensure that the party remains Namibia’s ruling party. He reminded party activists in the //Karas Region to mobilise, recruit the youth and renew efforts to bring unity among members and advance the party’s interests. Shanghala, who is Justice Minister, appealed to party leaders at all levels to teach party ideals to the youth and groom them for leadership roles. He said the party’s fight for Namibia’s freedom was long and bitter, and claimed the lives of many Namibians. Shanghala warned party cadres in the region against hibernators, whom he claims, wear blue, red and green colours but provoke dissent to divide the ruling party. The SWAPO politician’s urged the membership to ensure that the party remains in power despite defections. He made the call at the opening of SWAPO’s //Karas regional executive committee meeting held at Keetmanshoop.
