The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has also announced the closure of all early childhood development centers (ECDs), crèches and kindergartens or pre-schools, from tomorrow to 14 April. Minister Doreen Sioka further calls on management of all residential childcare facilities, known as children’s homes, to ensure children remain at their homes and take the necessary precautions for their well-being. While these actions may cause inconvenience for parents, Sioka says it is necessary to reduce the risk of exposure and further spread of the disease.
