Namib Mills has announced an increase in the basic food products effective from 1 September. This includes sugar, rice, wheat flour, pasta, yeast and bread. The company attributes the increase to fuel hikes as well as a decision by the South African Sugar Association to increase sugar prices. Consumers will pay 6% more for Pasta Polana, while bread and wheat flour will increase by 3% and yeast 2%.
