The Afrobarometer survey that was released this week says that Namibians still find elections to be the best way to choose their leaders, but are concerned about the decline in democratic practices in the country. This is just some of the perceptions contained in the survey in which 1 200 adults representative of the country’s demography were interviewed. Asked about the outcomes of the survey, government spokesperson and the Minister of Information, Communications and Technology, Stanley Simaata told NBC telephonically that perceptions are not based on any empirical data and that the particular survey has not presented what in particular the interviewees find wrong with democracy in the country.
