NAMPOL say the negligent ways firearm owners handle their weapons, is a cause for concern. This they say results in these weapons being stolen, and in some cases used to commit crimes. According to police report during the financial year 2018/2019, 245 firearms were reported stolen, whereas, during the first quarter of the current financial year 56 firearms were reported stolen.
