The National Council will resume on Monday to consider bills referred by the National Assembly. Upon resumption, the council will consider the Appropriation Bill; Microlending Bill as well as Gaming and Entertainment Control Bill. The Appropriation Bill, often referred to as the National Budget, seeks approval for the usage of funds meant for Government operations and activities. The Microlending Bill is meant to regulate the microlending business operations in Namibia and to establish an effective and consistent enforcement framework relating to microlending. It will also protect borrowers, promote responsible borrowing as well as lending, and provide for incidental matters.
