Protection of coastal waters, against damaging marine pollutants will be tightened once the National Marine Pollution Contingency Plan, comes into effect. The plan replaces the ‘National Oil Spill Contingency Plan’ of 2007, and is aimed at providing instruments, to manage marine pollution risks.
