Government has been urged to implement strategies to ensure that farmers north of the veterinary cordon fence gain access to other lucrative markets, including international ones. The call was made by members of the Namibia National Farmers Union (NNFU) from Otjozondjupa and Omaheke at a regional conference. The two unions believe that the mere lifting of the Red Line will not guarantee a lucrative market for farmers in the northern communal area (NCA) but more needs to be done.
