The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General Paulus Noa says they will apply for another warrant of arrest for former Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources. This comes after the High Court declared the warrant of arrest, which landed Esau in police custody, as invalid. Noa could not say when the commission will approach the magistrate for a fresh warrant. Esau was arrested on Saturday along with co-accused Ricardo Gustavo as implicated in the fishing quotas scandal but was released on Sunday after approaching the High Court. Esau, former Minister of Justice Sacky Shanghala, former Fishcor board chairman James Hatuikulipi, Gustavo and Tamson Hatuikulipi are accused of taking kickbacks for fishing rights from Icelandic company Samherji.
