Khoekhoegowab may soon be recognised as an official medium of instruction in South Africa’s schools. The language is one of the oldest in Southern Africa but is not recognised as yet. As part of the Twinning Agreement between the Northern Cape Province in South Africa and the //Kharas Regional Council, four Khoekhoegowab teachers from South Africa visited the region recently. They received training in the language to be better Khoekhoegowab language instructors in the Northern Cape.
