Three men who died on the B1 road between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo on Wednesday morning, when the vehicles they were travelling in collided, have been identified. Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Wednesday told Nampa the deceased are Salomo Ndjimba, 45, his brother Johannes Ndjimba, 37, and Petrus Nuuyoma, 30. Mbeha said Salomo was a traffic officer stationed at Otavi, while his younger brother Johannes was a teacher in the Okongo circuit in the Ohangwena Region. The accident occurred seven kilometres south of Otjiwarongo at about 05h30. “The accident involved eight people of whom three were in a Toyota double cab, three in a Polo and two in a Ford Ranger,” Mbeha added. The 43-year-old driver of the double cab and a 30-year-old woman who was travelling in the Polo sustained serious injuries. Mbeha said the 28-year-old driver of the Ford Ranger, his 42-year-old passenger and an 18-year-old occupant of the Polo survived the accident with slight injuries. Mbeha further called on motorists travelling on the public roads to drive with high caution and adhere to road traffic signs and road markings.
