Residents of Okahao town and surrounding villages on Friday joined the rest of the world in commemorating World AIDS Day. The day was marked with several educative dramas aimed at creating awareness on the various preventative measures as well as promoting the use of Anti-retroviral drugs. In Omusati region over 35 000 people were tested for HIV between April 2016 and March 2017, 5.3% of those tested positive. Statistics indicate that, over 90% of those tested positive are on treatment while the rest are not taking their drugs.
