The One Nation Fund intends to spend N$2 million to assist about 40 entrepreneurs during the 2018/2019 financial year. The announcement was made at the launch of One Economy Foundation’s, One Nation Fund, at Katutura’s Soweto Market. The loans target second economy entrepreneurs and have assisted 18 entrepreneurs to the value of N$1 million in collateral free lending. Grassroots entrepreneurs such as vendors of meat, fat cake and firewood may apply for up to N$50 000 loans. Larger business entrepreneurs may apply for up to N$250 000 to expand their businesses. Founder of One Economy Foundation, Monica Geingos, says by providing affordable and accessible financing, the second economy has the potential to encourage development in the country, while changing its socio-economic face. Applicants should submit their application forms from 12 to 30 March and again from the 1 to 14 August 2018. The One Nation Fund further offers skills development through basic entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy workshops.
