Opposition party councillors in the City of Windhoek plan to submit a vote of no confidence in the city’s management committee for the suspension of its CEO Robert Kahimise. They claim the suspension was unprocedural. Kahimise was suspended last year on allegations of corruption involving a personal interest-free study loan. Nudo’s Joseph Kauandenge says Kahimise’s suspension was coined by Swapo’s tribal agenda to get rid of the CEO. Kauandenge claims that Kahimise was suspended with no valid reasons and without a pre-suspension hearing. They alleged Kahimise’s suspension was a revenge act by Swapo councillors who wants to reinstate suspended Chief of the City Police Abraham Kanime to whom they owe corrupt employments of their relatives in the City Police.
