First National Bank (FNB) through the First-Rand Namibia Foundation Trust donated a resuscitation training machine to Oshakati Intermediate Hospital in the Oshana Region. The resuscitation equipment valued at N$350 000 is used to inflate the lungs of an unconscious person who is not breathing to keep them oxygenated and alive. At the event, Health Minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula also commissioned a N$5 million fluoroscopy machine which was needed at the hospital for the past eight years. The fluoroscopy machine provided by the government is crucial medical equipment used for radiological examinations and procedures. During the time when the hospital did not have the fluoroscopy, patients were referred to private institutions. The availability of the machine will cater to a catchment population of more than one million people.
