An Oshakati resident is on the run from the police after he allegedly attempted to murder his girlfriend. The suspect has been hiding since Tuesday morning, after he allegedly slashed his girlfriend with a panga in the early hours of the day. Police Spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo told Nampa that the suspect made a phone call to his 32-year-old girlfriend at about six o’clock in the morning. He allegedly requested her to collect their eight-year-old son from his place at Sky informal settlement. The victim claimed that without any provocation, the man started slashing her upon her arrival before fleeing the scene. Warrant Aiyambo said the victim was taken to the Oshakati State Hospital after sustaining serious injuries on both hands and head. The fugitive was last seen wearing blue overalls. A case of attempted murder was opened and the police request the public for information leading to his arrest.
