The Oshana Regional Arts Fair in Oshakati celebrated a year of creativity and talent, uniting artists of all ages under one inspiring event.
The Oshakati Arts Centre, which launched its operations in 2023, showcased a year’s worth of artistic growth and talent from across the region.
From young learners to senior citizens, this celebration of creativity was designed to inspire.
Organized by the Oshakati Arts Centre, the event aimed to spotlight the transformative power of the arts.
The head of the center, Risto Ita, passionately expressed his happiness about the progress made so far.
“We want to promote the talents, skills, and well-being of the people of Oshana. So we decided to create this art fair to unite all creatives in the Oshana region—professionals and non-professionals, school learners—to showcase their talents. This event is organized to foster unity among the people of Oshana and help them get to know each other and discover their abilities.”
This year’s fair featured a variety of art forms, including performing arts, music, visual arts, and crafts. It offered hands-on workshops in painting, sculpture, traditional music, and instrument training.
The fair also highlighted the efforts of instructors who teach skills that empower the community.
This is the first time the center is holding the event; it has promised to make it an annual activity and deliver an even larger showcase next year.
