The Otjiwarongo Municipality has this year eliminated the bucket system in various extensions to improve sanitation in the town. Servicing of land and improved road infrastructure are also some of remarkable changes made. An estimated 2 000 units of ablution facilities were constructed which consist of flushing toilets, hand basins and communal showers in five of Orwetoveni extensions.
