At least 142 people benefited from the first Food Bank distribution at Nkurenkuru. Nkurenkuru residents came out in large numbers to welcome the opening of the food bank. According to the 2011 Population and Housing Census about 3 000 residents live within Nkurenkuru’s boundaries of which the majority are unemployed.
