The Pan African Women’s Organisations (PAWO) has added its voice to the call made by SADC member-states, for the United States of America (USA) and the European Union (EU) to lift sanctions against Zimbabwe. The sanctions imposed shortly after the seizure of farms from white minority settlers in 2003 range from financial and visa restrictions, a ban on the sale of military hardware and services, as well as aid suspension. Eunice Iipinge, the PAWO Secretary for the Southern African regional office, remarked this during a preparatory committee meeting in Windhoek, ahead of the Pan African Women’s Congress, to take place in February 2020.
