The Namibian Police Force in the //Karas Region’s statistics shows that over 300 cases of violence against women between January and October were recorded in 2016 alone. This figure is less compared to 2015 when the police in the same region reported 450 cases of violence against women. It is suspected that the decrease could be because of the fear of victimisation by the perpetrators when such cases are reported to the police.
