President Hage Geingob will join nine other African heads of state for the first Extraordinary Summit of the African Union’s Committee of Ten Heads of State on Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa in Lilongwe, Malawi. The C10 Committee is expected to lobby private sector funding for the science and technology fields. It is also to provide policy recommendations for effective implementation of the ‘Continental Strategy for Africa’, among others. President Geingob was appointed to the Committee in January and is to deliver a statement at the Summit.
