President Hage Geingob visited the Diamond Trading Company of Botswana today. The DTC Botswana is a 50/50 joint venture partnership between the Government and De Beers group. It is the world’s largest and most sophisticated rough diamond sorting and valuing operation, with a staff component of 435. The President says he was happy with the collaboration between DTC Botswana and the Namibian Diamond Trading Company DTC. Dr Geingob encouraged the two companies to continue working together in line with regional integration. Last year alone, Namibia exported rough diamonds worth one billion US dollars to Botswana.
