Recently appointed Presidential Affairs Minister, Immanuel Ngatjizeko (65) has retired due to ill-health. Ngatjizeko confirmed this to NBC after reports emerged on Monday that he was relieved of his duties by President Hage Geingob. He was moved to the Presidential Affairs portfolio from Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, following a Cabinet reshuffle in January. Ngatjizeko has been a Member of Parliament since 2000, and member of the Cabinet since 2003 when he was appointed Director-General of the National Planning Commission. He has also served as Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare and as Minister of Safety and Security. Statehouse is yet to comment on the matter.
