Britain’s Prince William paid Vice President Nangolo Mbumba a courtesy visit in Windhoek on Monday. They discussed Namibia’s wildlife and conservation agenda in relation to the conference on illegal wildlife trade to be held next month in London. Their discussions focused on how to strengthen international partnerships across borders and beyond governments with emphasis on tackling illegal wildlife trade as an organised crime; building coalitions and closing illegal wildlife trading markets. This is his first official royal visit to Namibia since Queen Elizabeth II’s stopover in 1991. The Duke of Cambridge will attend an event to celebrate UK-Namibia relations at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Namibia. He will meet key figures working in conservation, business and industry leaders, representatives of the youth and mental health activists from Namibia. Prince Williams is on a two-day visit in Namibia.
