A faction in the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) is opposing the election of Mike Kavekotora as party president. Kavekotora was elected at the party’s third National Convention in June and was announced by the election presiding officer as duly elected. However, one group is now calling for a re-run of the election as he was not the outright winner in terms of the party’s election rules.
