The RDP secretary general, Mike Kavekotora has officially announced the resignation of the party president, Jeremiah Nambinga and other members. Speaking at a media conference yesterday, Kavekotora explained that Nambinga resigned last Thursday as both president and RDP member. Other members who resigned include Ohangwena Regional Secretary, Timotheus Shikongo and the RDP Councillor at Helao Nafidi, Vilho Shimuooshili. Kavekotora further announced that seven other members had resigned from the party. The RDP confirmed Steve Bezuidenhout as acting president until the party’s convention in November this year. Kavekotora said the position of regional secretary for Ohangwena will be filled soon.
