The Namibia Rugby Union’s council voted to play some form of Rugby this year still, this decision was made during the NRU’s AGM which was held in Windhoek recently. NRU president Corrie Mensah however expressed his concern on the matter. In an NBC exclusive interview Mensah expressed his concern surrounding the return of Rugby in stage 4. ” It’s a very though call for Rugby, It’s not a matter of just what we will do on the field. There are a lot of measures and we could not actually compromise in unity with regards to how we will approach this face” Mensah said. With the council not all in agreement on how exactly Rugby can possibly return to the field of play, the NRU is planning on implementing its own set of measures in addition to that of the government, and by extension, the Namibia Sports Commission. These measurements will include terms of participation for the clubs in the league to ensure the safety of all.
