The visiting Russian Foreign Affairs Minister, Sergey Lavrov, paid a courtesy call on President Hage Geingob following his meeting with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO), Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, on Monday. The courtesy meeting was to exchange views on a wide range of bilateral and international issues of mutual interest. Lavrov arrived in Namibia on Monday on a three-day official visit. He said, “my personal visit is to demonstrate the desire on how agreements between our two countries can be implemented.” On his part, President Geingob hailed Russia-Namibia relations which dates back to the pre-independence era and said, “Namibia is now turning to friends that assisted us to be free (politically) for the second phase of the struggle.”
