The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Double Troika is to convene a joint meeting with the African Union (AU) over the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The joint meeting will take place on Thursday in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. The African leaders are meeting amid calls by some countries for vote recounts and establishment of national unity government in the DRC. SADC chairperson, Namibian President Hage Geingob will travel to Addis Ababa, from United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday. Geingob was in Abu Dhabi to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and exhibition, alongside several African and world leaders. He also invited the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan to visit Namibia as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.
