The just-ended SADC Double Troika Summit, which took place in Luanda, Angola, expressed appreciation to Namibia and former president, Hifikepunye Pohamba, for their readiness and acceptance to serve as the SADC Special Envoy to the DRC. The Summit has also endorsed the roadmap for the reforms and national dialogue in Lesotho and has urged that country to prioritise the security sector reforms with a timeline ending in May next year. The summit has further called upon all political parties and stakeholders to commit to the reform process in order to find a lasting solution to the crisis in Lesotho. The regional bloc has also expressed concern about the recent developments in Madagascar that has resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of property and has therefore approved the deployment of Joachim Chissano as special envoy to that country.
