Six teenagers were arrested in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, on Sunday for allegedly stealing a taxi. NamPol’s Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator says the teenagers used an unknown object to break into the taxi and drove it away, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Deputy Commissioner Erastus Ikuyu, says the car was spotted at 04h00, but the driver ignored a police instruction to stop, and drove away, instead. A Police chase ensued, and the suspects were followed up to the Puma Service Station in Kuisebmond, where the driver stopped the car and fled the scene, with two other suspects. Three suspects that remained were arrested on the scene. The driver and the two remaining suspects, who had fled the scene, were arrested later the same day, in Kuisebmond. The suspects, aged between 17 and 19, will appear in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court today.
