Supplementary registration of voters for by-elections in five constituencies starts on 2 November. The by-elections are necessitated following the resignations of five regional councillors, who are now on SWAPO’s candidate list for the National Assembly election. The Supplementary Registration of Voters will be held in Gobabis, Keetmanshoop Urban, Khomasdal, Oshikuku and Walvis Bay Urban constituencies. In terms of the Regional Council Act, a vacancy in a regional council shall be filled within three months after it has occurred. The ECN, in a media statement on Thursday, urged all eligible individuals to register to vote.
