Former Lands Deputy Minister, Bernadus Swartbooi has been recalled as a Swapo Member of Parliament on Wednesday morning. Swapo Secretary General Nangolo Mbumba at a press conference said the reasons for the recall are evident, following tribal remarks over the weekend. “As a courtesy. Honourable Swartbooi was notified of the party’s decision and has a copy of the letter,” he said. Swartbooi recently told a gathering at Keetmanshoop, in the //Kharas Region, that he is ready to resign from the Swapo party should he be recalled from his position as Member of Parliament. Swapo’s politburo made the decision last night.
