The 6th European Union-African Union Summit started in Brussels, Belgium, with African leaders calling for a redefined, renewed and rebooted partnership with Europe. President Hage Geingob, together with other African Heads of State and Government, are attending the two-day summit co-chaired by Senegalese President, Macky Sall and Emmanuel Macron of France. In his opening speech President Sall, who is also the Chairperson of the African Union (AU), outlined 8 proposals to define the new partnership with Europe. These include the reinforcement in the fight against terrorism through the European Peace Facility, better access for African countries to export, credit and collaboration in access to COVID-19 vaccines as well as the return of Africa’s artefacts.
