Works and Transport Minister John Mutorwa has issued a directive banning trucks from travelling on the B2 coastal road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay during the festive season. In statement Mutorwa says trucks will be required to use the C14 and C34 back road behind the dunes between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay as alternative road to avoid road congestion and road crashed during the festive season. The directive is effective from 1 December until 14 January. Drivers of these vehicles who do not adhere to the directive will be stopped at the police roadblock, and turned back to take the alternative route.
