Damages to properties as a result of a freak rainstorm that caught Tsumeb residents by surprise could run into thousands of dollars. Heavy rain, accompanied by strong wind destroyed houses at Saamstaam location and Endobo compound. It also uprooted several trees at the town while injuring five people. The rainstorm is said to have lasted less than 30 minutes on Monday shortly after 17h00.
