Two people died in a car accident at Masokotwani Village of the Katima Rural Constituency on Sunday. Police said a Toyota Vits sedan was driving from Kapolota village in the Masokotwani area when the driver lost control at a curve. The Zambezi Police Crime Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Evans Simasiku, said the car rolled several times before it came to a standstill in the middle of the road. The driver was thrown out of the car and died on the spot. The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Likeleli Mwilima and his next of kin have been informed. A female passenger was also thrown out of the vehicle and died on the spot. She was identified as 17-year-old Mukenu Mwilima. A third passenger on the car, identified as 16-year-old Chuma Mayumbelo survived with minor injuries and has been admitted in the Katima Mulilo State hospital. Police investigations continue.
