The 22-year-old Unam student at the Katima Mulilo Campus, who is accused of murder, has been denied bail in that town’s magistrate’s court. Sitwala Sitwala was charged with the murder of 20-year-old Reagan Segwa Siyinda two-months ago at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi region. It is alleged that Sitwala stabbed the deceased with a knife during the night of third of July at Ngweze location. A witness allegedly saw the accused throwing away a blood-stained knife after the incident. In his testimony during the bail hearing, the accused told the court that he saw a body lying on the ground and walked past it. The court wanted to know how a person in his normal state of mind sees a body and just walks past it without reporting it or assisting. Magistrate Nzaca dismissed Sitwala’s bail application and postponed the case to the end of next month for further investigations.
