Voting in the Presidential and National Assembly elections started this morning at eight polling stations, one in each constituency, of the Khomas Region. Although not all polling stations opened on time, members of Namibia’s security forces came out in numbers to exercise their democratic right. Challenges experienced were that some members of the Namibia Defence Force, Namibian Police and Correctional Service were denied entry into polling stations after failing to provide proof as confirmation that they will be on duty on 27 November when the entire nation is expected to vote. Polling stations will be open until 21h00 tonight.
