Namibia has now signed the Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA), worth over US$2 trillion. President Hage Geingob signed the agreement during the African Union summit in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The country was one of the 11 African Union (AU) member states that shunned the agreement in March this year when 44 countries first signed in Rwanda.

The African Union (AU) says it has made progress with financial reforms. This was revealed by chairperson, Paul Kagame at the opening of the 31st ordinary Summit of AU Heads of State and Government in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
